Laura has over 20 years of experience training dogs. She has been at ACE since 2004 and over that time has enjoyed the people that ACE attracts. She loves her colleagues and students alike and recognizes that they enhance not only the classroom environment at ACE but also contribute to a great overall attitude in the dog agility community.
Laura states that after competing in agility since 2001, she is fully addicted to the sport. She says, “I can’t seem to give it up. Early on, I started out just wanting something active to do with my dogs. Now, I embrace the challenge of the training as well as planning the best way to handle each course for each dog.” Laura enjoys agility as a way to “keep her body and mind active for herself and her dogs.”
Being an incredibly patient and thoughtful instructor with both handlers and dogs, she enjoys building confidence and getting the most out of every team she works with. Laura has taught classes in puppy obedience and CGC testing as well as agility.
Laura has owned and loved four Boston Terriers: Nutmeg, Dawson, Fez and Raz, and an Australian Shepherd named Skitch. With them, she has competed successfully in agility, obedience, and rally events. Dawson finished in 7th place at the AKC National Event. Skitch is currently competing at the top of his class and is looking forward to a shining career!
Nutmeg and Dawson have passed away, but live on in the hearts of Laura and her husband Rob.
